Over at The Tall Poppy there is a new idea for creating a wide spreading writing project that also brings link love back to your blog. The idea is that these sentences start dozens of new stories as your readers each take the sentences below and add their own to it. This generates a whole new story line as well as building links to your site.

Why not join in?

All you have to do is to add a sentence to the sentences / paragraph below and then add your blog title under ‘contributing authors’.

Here is the way it works.

1. Copy these instructions and the following paragraph into a post on your blog.

2. Read the story so far and add your sentence to it. It must make sense because this will eventually be a real story.

3. Add your blog link to the links listed. Every time a new sentence and blog link is added yours will receive some link love too.

4. The only rule is that no smutty sentences are allowed!

This clip is really funny and I can hear echoes of me, my mum, my grandmother and probably generations of mothers before us! The clip seems to miss the intro but it is worth watching! It is called Total Momsense

Once upon a time there was a cow. She lived on a farm with a hundred other cows but she was bored. She was tired of walking in the mud and following along in line behind the other cows. One day as she stood in the paddock chewing her cud, she looked around. There in the branches of the big, dead tree were some seagulls. These same seagulls visited every day, flying in to land nearby. The cow was jealous of them and wished that she could fly just like them. How great it would be to take to the sky and be free, away from the heavy mud. The mud weighed her down like wet cement. Just imagine the things she could do if she could be free.

One morning the cow decided that she was not going to follow the others any longer. She was going to find the seagulls and learn to fly. She crept out of the paddock through the broken fence and followed her nose to the coast. The ground changed under her hoofs as she walked. Gone was the mud and instead she felt sand. This was unnerving but exciting and spurred her further on.

Eventually she came to the beach where the seagulls played and she lumbered slowly up to them. "Please teach me to fly like you do. I want to be free." The seagulls looked at each other and squawked with laughter. "You can’t fly like us because you are a cow. Cows can’t fly. You don’t even have wings."

The poor cow was very disappointed. She had hoped so much that someone would help her. It wasn’t her fault that she didn’t have wings. She walked sadly off to sit on the beach, watch the ocean and mope.

"What is wrong with you?" The cow looked up and saw a dolphin looking at her from the waves. "What is wrong with you?" he said again. The cow said, "I want to fly but I don’t have wings." The dolphin laughed and said "Who needs wings? I can fly and I only have fins."

He encouraged the cow to enter the water. She wasn’t used to the waves or the pull of the current beneath her. "Just trust me. Trust yourself." said the dolphin. She did so and, with the dolphin, swam further and further away from the beach. "Can you feel the waves?"the dolphin asked. "Yes" mooed the cow in wonder. "They are really pushing me around." "Now just let go", said the dolphin. "Just picture yourself flying! Feel the waves pushing you and go for it."

Cow closed her eyes and imagined leaping into the air. She could feel the wind whistling around her ears. "I can do it.", she said to herself. "I can do it!"

"NOW!", yelled the dolphin.

The cow took the power of the wave and sailed up and out of the sea. "Open your eyes!" She looked and could see the sea beneath her. She felt the breeze on her udders. She felt the dolphin flying beside her. "I am free!", she thought. "When I want to fly I can really do it"

The dolphin smiled and said "Never listen to those who tell you can’t do it. You don’t need wings to fly."

So next time you go to the beach, keep your eyes open for the cow that flies. She might teach you to fly too.

If you see anything wrong or mistyped please yell. I am a shocker with the keyboard! I am still trying to figure out how to get my bank details to show up if someone wants to pay by direct deposit! That could be handy.

The logo is by Jade Kemp and I love it!

I found this excellent clip on a great blog by Nicole at A Modern Goddess Apart from the fact that it is really cute it has a brilliant message within it. Anyone who has a dream really ought to watch it. Your dreams might seem out of your reach but there is always a way to achieve them.

I am looking for stories about how it all went wrong! You know when you get all dressed up to go somewhere special? You arrive and your dress is tucked into your knickers, or your dress falls apart…….. That kind of thing.

If it has happened to you write it up in a post on your blog so that I can link to it. It should help bring you more readers too, apart from making a very funny story!

Our Best Mates

I was visiting Moondusts Mumspace earlier this morning when I saw her son’s bear. What great mates our teddy bears are, aren’t they?

I though that i would post a pic of my kids best mates. I think I love them as much as my kids do.

This is Frosty the Winter Bear - a Beanie Kid. Well, at least this is what he looked like when he arrived home with DS2. This is what he looks like after a life much loved.

Poor Frosty has gone everywhere with us. He still does (although he sits in my bag - have to preserve the dignity of 12 year old DS2). His face has been mended, I have sewn him up in various places many times. but he has his own bed, chair and wardrobe. He is a very happy bear now.

This is Princess Teddy Flower. If you think her nose looks a little droopy there is a reason for it. DD has had PTF since she was born and wasn’t big enough to hold her properly so she used to pick her up by the nose. PTF nnow has a nose that WitchyPoo would die for.
